Highfield was founded in 1930 and was elevated to senior status in the province of Munster in 1953. Before moving to its present grounds, at Woodleigh Park, it was based in fields, between Highfield Avenue and Highfield West. Youth Section has produced Donnacha O'Callaghan, Terry Moore and Paul who played for Ireland. Highfield’s youth section pro- duces teams from U6's to Seniors. In January 2011, they opened a new flood-lit, All- Weather facility; comprising 3 astro-turf pitches.
